Tasmanian Skills Equip Training Projects 2006
Release: 18th May 2006
Esset Australia has been successful in securing three tenders with the Tasmanian State Government in the 2006 Skills Equip Training program.
The Skills Equip program is managed by the Office of Post Compulsory Education and Training and is designed to meet identified training needs for equity groups in Tasmania.
Esset Australia is an education provider and consultancy operating both statewide and interstate, providing high quality and industry responsive training programs in a range of niche areas.
The successful programs, which will begin delivery from June 2006, include 180 free training places for equity groups, including jobseekers, parents, women, over 45's and people with a disability.
The programs include a Home and Community Care project, in partnership with four aged care service providers on the NW Coast, and a Hospitality training project, in partnership with a number of hospitality venues around the state, providing high quality compliance and service training, with industry work placements, to prospective hospitality employees.
Another successful training program to be undertaken this year through the Skills Equity program is a Key skills program, to held in Neighbourhood House areas around the state in conjunction with the Tasmanian Association of Community Houses, and focusing on key IT, business and work skills required for the modern workplace.
Esset Australia Managing Director, Phill Bevan, said "the success of the equity programs run by Esset Australia in past years has been recognised with additional places being achieved in the 2006 program. The close partnerships that were developed with industry organisations and support organisations such as the Tasmnaian Association of Community Houses will continue to ensure that the training programs were relevant and supportive of the current needs of Tasmanian businesses and individuals."
The Skills Equip programs will result in programs being delivered in over 10 locations around Tasmania, ensuring training support is provided in locations of easy access to all participants.
