Corporate Initiatives
SafeFood Program
Esset Australia plays a critical role supporting the Food, Hospitality and associated industries with the original release of the National Food Standards Code, and relevant Food Acts in each state jurisdiction, making core food handling training a compulsory requirement for all food handler employees.
Our Safe Food Program continues to assist a broad cross-section of the Australian Food industry to meet and maintain compliance with the ANZFA Food Standards Code, with over 800 participants to date completing food safety training across Australia.
Qantas Airways Ltd
Esset Australia is the learning services provider for Qantas College for the management
and administration of the Qantas Airways Ltd Registered Training Organisation. Working with various Qantas business areas, Qantas RTO has a critical role to play in up-skilling employees in a wide range of qualifications, including frontline management, business, transport and logistics.
As a part of this industry agreement, skill development and RTO services are implemented with employees through a delivery onsite, targeted workshops, followed by on-the-job assessment which ensures employees demonstrate their newly acquired skills in practice. Over 1500 employees per year are expected to be supported through this program.
Esset Australia also works closely with Qantas College in the hosting of online courses using Esset Australia’s leading e-learning framework. Qantas College offers a range of commercial online services to various training providers across Australia and Internationally, with around 1000 participants per year studying online.
DHHS Management Development Initiative
As the selected provider of the Tasmanian Government Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), ‘Explore’ Management Development Program, Esset Australia plays a key role supporting management personnel of the largest employer in Tasmania as they undertake the effective day to day operations of the myriad of health and community services delivered by the Department.
The program has supported over 150 managers to date through workshops, onsite coaching and e-learning activities, in key management development topics.
St George Bank
Supporting approximately 1500 employees over three years, Esset Australia is the accredited learning services provider of St George Bank and subsidiary BankSA. With employees in 280 branches and the contact centre across seven states and territories completing accredited qualifications aligned to corporate objectives, flexible service options engaged include workshop programs, online assessment activities and onsite mentoring/assessment in all branches.
Schools Administration Projects
In partnership with the Catholic Education Offices (CEO) in Victoria, Esset Australia works with Education Support consultants in implementing Certificate III qualification programs to CEO school administrators. The program supports recent system initiatives within the diocese’ and provides much needed recognition and training support for school based employees.
From the initial trial of two participant groups, the program has been implemented across all Victorian dioceses, taking total participants to over 200 for the duration of the program. Esset Australia also delivers similar skills programs in other state jurisdictions on a school by school basis.
Association Initiatives
Records Management Initiative
Esset Australia, working in conjunction with the Records Management Association of Australasia (RMAA) and Relevancy Pty Ltd, implemented a best practice model of panel assessment for three ‘state champions’ to achieve their Advanced Diploma from the Business Services Training Package.
These Advanced Diplomas were some of the first qualifications issued nationally under the Records Management competency standards, and provided qualified staff to continue the process in other states. The project now includes all recordkeeping qualification levels, with the development of print and online materials aligned to the International standard for Records Management AS ISO 15489.
Esset Australia is one of few Australian companies to have its Recordkeeping programs accredited by the RMAA, with the association also selecting Esset Australia as the RTO partner for the RMAA’s Residential School series, supporting over 200 records managers each year in records workshops across Australia and several international locations.
Health Training Solutions
Esset Australia implemented the Health Training Solutions initiative in 2006 working in association with the Australian Medical Association (AMA) Victoria.
Leading from a successful pilot of one course, to over 200 participants in its first year, the Health Training Solutions initiative has since been expanded to include multiple qualification levels for the health support worker career framework, from short course through to Diploma level qualifications, and is offered nationally throughout medical, dental, physiotherapy, allied health, hospital and specialist health environments, to support the development and accreditation of practice and health support Staff. Participant numbers in health projects continue to grow, exceeding 1500 participants skilled in recent years.
Our health services now incorporate all Australian states and territories, and international students, with further partnerships developed with the AMA Tasmania, AMA Australian Capital Territory, AMA South Australia and AMA Queensland. Major hospitals and health networks across Australia are also participating, including the South East Sydney Area Health Service – one of Australia’s Top 20 largest employers.
Allied Health Project
In association with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Esset Australia also manages a workforce development project in the training of Allied Health Assistants for the physiotherapy practice and hospitals sectors. Commenced in 2010, the project is expecting to skill up to 200 allied health assistants in its first year alone.
Industry & Government Workforce Initiatives
Training for the Future Initiative
Funded by the Tasmanian Government Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), Esset Australia is engaged as the Training for the Future project supplier, supporting learning and development outcomes for approximately 180 community sector organisations, covering over 5000 employees and volunteers. The organisations include those providing home and community care (HACC), Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and Community Support Program (CSP) service providers across Tasmania.
The initiative offers nationally accredited short courses and qualifications to board members, managers, support workers and volunteers within these organisations, as they provide quality care and support to a diverse range of clients.
Dementia Care Essentials
Esset Australia is the Tasmanian service provider for the Australian Government Department of Health & Ageing (DoHA) ‘Dementia Care Skills Initiative’, working with 140 residential and community based aged care service providers around Tasmania, providing free dementia workshops and skills development experiences to over 1000 employees in the four year life of the project.
Beyond the initial dementia training service, the program is also identifying a wide range of further skills needs for the target participants and service providers, for future qualifications, accreditations and short course services, to continue to support the quality of care outcomes within their operations.
Support for Aged Care Training Program
Esset Australia works collaboratively with DoHA and a range of residential aged care enterprises across Australia in the delivery of the Support for Aged Care Training program.
The program is focused on overcoming barriers to rural and regional aged care workers accessing training opportunities and is designed to address identified training barriers including a lack of confidence to study, the cost of training, time to study, low levels of literacy and numeracy, and difficulty accessing training.
The main objective of the project is that service delivery personnel will be educated for the growing needs of the aged care industry and that the quality of life for the residents will improve. From 180 participants in its first year, the program has been extended to involve the delivery of over 2500 training places in recent years.
Better Skills for Better Care Program
Further services to residential aged care enterprises are also provided through the DoHA Better Skills for Better Care program, with Esset Australia delivering over 250 full qualification training places from Certificate III to Diploma level in recent years across Australia.
Community Aged Care Workforce Development Program
Building on the BSBC program above, Esset Australia has also implemented the latest DoHA initiative; the Community Aged Care Workforce Development program on a national basis. This new program is aimed at full qualification support for community aged care enterprises across Australia, with over 100 training places underway in the first implementations of the program.
Other Government Workforce Initiatives
Esset Australia works with a variety of Commonwealth and State Government agencies to provide access for corporate clients to the full range of funded support programs to industry. Recent programs have been funded through the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program, the Productivity Places Program, State Government User Choice Contracts, State Strategic Priority funding and a number of other funding sources.
